Do you know why? I hate bench clearing brawls at the collegiate level. Rather than tell you why, though, I would rather hear your thoughts on it. I'll trade you a comment for a comment. Go.

I hate bench clearing brawls on any level. Boys will be boys, though, and pride and ego are a huge thing.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on the impetus, too. Pride and ego are lousy motivators for a fight, in my opinion, but you're probably right. That's likely at the heart of a lot of the brawls we see at any level. Mike Martin called it "testosterone" and "adrenaline," but I can't help but think it was more what you said: ego and pride. I mean, they were losing to FLORIDA; I'm pretty sure that would wound my pride and ego, too.
